A multi-year contract worth 17.3 Million Euros with the Italian Ministry of the Interior has been signed.
RADIO ACTIVITY Srl, a company of the Japanese Corporation JVCKENWOOD, and LEONARDO SPA, announce that they have signed a multi-year contract worth 17.3 Million Euros with the Italian Ministry of the Interior for the implementation of the first tranche of the national radio network of the Fire Department.
The network, based on Italian technology developed by RADIO ACTIVITY, will ensure the Corps emergency communication services in 10 Italian regions. The new digital infrastructure, in DMR simulcast standard, will replace the current analog systems, offering a gradual migration between the two technologies thanks to the maintenance of the frequency bands in use today at 70/400/900 MHz and thanks to the mode of operation with automatic analog/digital switching.
The technology upgrade will enable improved radio service quality and efficiency without having to change the basic structure in the field network.
